A former Speaker of Ondo State House of Assembly, Hon. Ayo Agbonmuserin, has dumped the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for the All Progressive Congress, APC. It would be recalled that Hon.
Agbonmuserin was speaker of the state legislator during the tenure of late Adebayo Adefarati’s before he decamped to the PDP.
Addressing party leaders and supporters on Tuesday at the APC Secretariat in Akure, Agbonmuserin said he decided to dump the PDP because of lack of internal democracy and justice, adding that the crisis which followed the arrival of the Labour Party into the PDP had crippled the party (PDP).
Welcoming the defectors, the Chairman of APC in the state, Hon. Isaac Kekemeke, congratulated them for being ”foresighted and having the courage to leave the PDP,” adding that the APC was a moving train everyone wanted to join so as to be part of the imminent change.
The Chairman also assured Hon. Agbonmuserin and his supporters of a level playing ground, saying, “there are no new or old members, all members are one with equal rights and opportunities.
